My stock market timing sucks

So I got a tip from a friend last week to check out National Oilwell Varco - a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production. I bought 500 shares CFD on Wednesday. Today - a week later, the stock is down 18%. OMG.
